We are told a mo’olelo (story) of Kameha’ikana. A water entity who journeys as mo’o (lizard spirit). First coming down to the earth, then traveling mauka (upland) to makai (seaward) from her cave in the mountains out to the shoreline to gather her mea’ai (food). She returns from the shore to her mountain abode as the Ualehu (rain) ascending makai back to mauka. This story is a recounting of the water cycle here in Ha’iku valley, the home of Kanile’a. ‘Ukulele. He Ali’I Ka ‘Aina, He Kauwa Ke Kanaka, (the land is chief and man its servant.)
Our 2022 limited edition Platinum Super Tenor depicts the beautiful water cycle here in our hometown and represents our commitment to Aloha ‘Aina (love of the land).
