Brook Kapūkuniahi Parker paints a brave and mighty historical scene of Hawai'i's past. His painting called, "The Sons of 8" features the brave warriors of Oahu. The invulnerable warriors were the eight famous: Pupuka, Makaʻioulu, Puakea, Pinau, Kalaeone, Pahua, Kauhi and Kapukoa.

Brook Kapūkuniahi Parker was born and raised in Kahalu’u, O’ahu. John Parker’s wife, Rachael Keli’ikipikanekaolohaka Ohiaku, was a great-granddaughter of Kamehameha the Great and his wife Kanekapolei. The majority of Brook’s art portrays the deep love and admiration he has for his ancestors. His specialty is the kū or the masculine paintings of warriors in battle scenes and kings.
