Tonga has the highest percentage membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of any country in the world. How did this come to be? Early on, missionary work in Tonga met with little suceess because of opposition. But after halting missionary work for a decade, the Church returned and began harvesting the fruits from the seeds that had been planted earlier. The truths of the gospel resonated with the Tongan people, who exhibited powerful faith and a willingness to sacrifice. The Church grew and became a significant influence in the Kingdom of Tonga.
